The Lowland and Border Pipers’ Society

The Lowland and Border Pipers’ Society is the only organization dedicated to furthering the playing & development of Scottish cauld wind pipes and piping (i.e. Scottish smallpipes, Border or Lowland pipes and Pastoral pipes)

We hold four main events each year including a Burns Supper, Collogue (conference, Informal Competition and residential teaching weekend. We actively encourage the teaching process through Adult Learning Project classes and endorsement of other summer schools such as Ceolas, and the Society has hosted major concerts, featuring pipers from different piping traditions recorded for two CDs by Greentrax Recordings.

Most importantly for North American members, we publish a twice-yearly magazine "Common Stock" which contains articles, research, reviews, pipemakers’ practical hints and tips long with readers’ letters and experiences to help you keep in touch. T shirts, stickers, CDs and Tutor books are available.

Membership is £14.00 payable by Visa or Master card. Application forms are on the website.
