How to Play Music Faster: Ideal Practice Methods for Adult Musicians, Part II
In 2011 I gave a talk called "How to Play Music Faster: Ideal Practice Methods for Adult Musicians". I talked about how the best methods for practice for an adult might well be different than the usual advice, most of which is aimed at teenagers and young adults. In the 2011 talk, I focused mainly on the general principles involved, and in Part II of this presentation, I plan on answering questions and going into specifics. I would like participants to bring in "problem pieces" for practice advice, so we can apply the general principles covered in the 2011 talk to specific examples. This is open to all musicians, on any instrument. I expect the participants in the 2013 workshop to read the transcript of the 2011 talk, available on my website,
www.dickhensold.com/playfaster.html and also is printed in the 2013 Pipers Gathering program. It's not necessary to let me know ahead of time if you plan on bringing in a "practice problem, but it might be helpful, so drop me a line if you like!
